Types of Countertops:

Hanstone
Quartz is found in abundance on earth and it is second only to water as the most common mineral on the planet. It is the fourth hardest material on the Moh's Hardness Scale behind diamond, topaz and sapphire. Quartz countertops average 93-95% quartz with the balance composed of pigments and resins.  Granite on the other hand may only contain 50% quartz. Patented by S.A. Breton of Italy each manufacturer uses the same technology to fabricate the slabs.   In the fabrication process of the slabs, raw quartz crystals are combined with bonding resins and color pigments which are heated, then vibrocompacted and polished to form the slabs. The resulting slabs are non-porous and are nearly twice as strong as granite.

DuPont™ Corian®
DuPont™ Corian® solid surface is easy to clean and is NSF/ANSI 51 Certified (pdf) for food contact. Because Corian® is nonporous, stains do not penetrate the surface. With proper cleaning, Corian® also resists the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria. Corian® products such as sinks and backsplashes can be perfectly integrated to create the illusion of a single, solid surface. With a cove-backsplash there are no cracks to collect dirt and moisture. DuPont invented solid surfaces and have worked to continually improve our portfolio. As a result, Corian® has consistently attained a customer satisfaction rating of 96%. Every Corian® solid surface countertop from DuPont is covered by a limited-warranty for product and installation.
